AP Engineering at the 59th European Meeting of Notified Bodies for the Machinery Directive
A strategic event for industrial machinery compliance
From June 4 to 5, 2025, AP Engineering will participate in the 59th meeting of the European Coordination of Notified Bodies for the Machinery Directive. The meeting, scheduled in Prague, brings together European notified bodies involved in the conformity assessment of machinery in accordance with Directive 2006/42/EC.
The event represents a high-level opportunity for dialogue to share best practices, stay updated on regulatory developments, and ensure a harmonized application of the rules across the European Union.
Representing AP Engineering will be Eng. Alessandro Peluso, who will contribute our technical expertise in CE certification and machinery safety.
Focus on the new Machinery Regulation and emerging technologies
The core topics of the meeting will focus on the implementation of the new Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, which will come into force in 2027, and the implications for the validity of certificates issued under the current Directive. There will also be discussions on the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity on safety assessments, as well as updates to the Recommendations for Use (RfU), essential tools for accurate technical interpretation.
A representative from the European Commission will also attend the session, highlighting the institutional importance of the table and its role in ensuring an up-to-date and consistent regulatory framework at the EU level.
