We offer a professional and competent service aimed at CE conformity certification (Directive 2006/42/EC) and the major international standards directly and/or through partnerships with Accredited Certification Bodies and internationally recognized Testing Laboratories.
AP Engineering operates as a Notified Body for the issuance of CE Certification of Type according to Annex IX of Directive 2006/42/EC for the following types of machinery:
- Category 1: Circular saws (single-blade and multi-blade)
For the processing of wood and materials with similar physical characteristics, or for the processing of meat and materials with similar physical characteristics, of the following types:- 1.1. Saws with blade(s) fixed in position during cutting, with fixed table or workpiece support, manually fed or equipped with a removable feed device;
- 1.2. Saws with blade(s) fixed in position during cutting, with reciprocating table, saw bench, or carriage, moved manually;
- 1.3. Saws with blade(s) fixed in position during cutting, equipped with an integrated feed device for the workpieces, with manual loading and/or unloading;
- 1.4. Saws with blade(s) that move during cutting, equipped with an integrated feed device, with manual loading and/or unloading.
- Category 16: Vehicle lifts.
- Category 17: Devices for lifting people or people and goods, where there is a risk of vertical fall exceeding 3 meters.
- Category 19: Devices for detecting persons.
- Category 21: Logic units for safety functions.
As a Notified Body, we apply an approach based on competence and professionalism, articulated in the following phases:
- Preliminary analysis, with technical specialist site inspections, aimed at identifying the technical regulations and defining the entire certification process in terms of planning and expectations.
- Evaluation by experts of the machine's certification documents, taking into account its intended use and operating modes.
- Testing activities according to EMC, Noise, Electrical Safety, and Type C standards.
- Detailed analysis regarding functional safety aspects for the verification of safety architectures, including performance verification for SIL and Performance Level levels.
- Issuance of the Certificate in case of a positive outcome of all verifications.
